Below is the pattern I used for the cat paw scarf with the alternating paws that look they are walking up the scarf. I hope I did not make any changes while knitting, so please let me know if there are any errors.

1: k2, k2tog, yo, k4, k2tog, yo, k1, yo, k2tog, k12, yo, k2tog, k2
3: k7, k2tog, yo, k3, yo, k2tog, k15
5: k2, k2tog, yo, k5, k2tog, yo, k14, yo, k2tog, k2
7, 11, 15, 23, 27, 31: knit
9, 13, 25, 29: k2, k2tog, yo, k21, yo, k2tog, k2

Thank you for posting the caw paw walking pattern! I've been searching for this! But one question: what do you mean by - Repeat rows 1-31 to desired length and then Repeat rows 1-28? Where are the numbers of 31 and 28 coming from?
Do I just repeat the 1-21 rows of the cat pattern until I want to end the scarf? I appreciate any help you can provide! I just started knitting about a year ago!
The cat paw pattern has 31 rows to it - rows 7, 11, 15, 23, 27 & 31 are knit only. Because my blog post was re-formatted and it automatically took out the spaces after I posted it - it is hard to see. Rows 9, 13, 25 & 29 are also the same. The last repeat you only knit 28 rows and then finish with the edging. Hope this helps!
Your scarf is really nice. The alternating pawprints suggest animal movement so much better than some of the allover "paw" designs. Thanks for sharing.
